Dave & Kathy Helwick
Dave and Kathy Helwick of Carrollton joined the club in the fall of 2003, when they purchased their first RV, a 1996 32-ft Rexhall. They have since upgraded to a 2001, 36.5-ft. Marlin. In the summer of 2004, they traveled with a caravan through the western national parks, seeing Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon. Since then, they have spent the summers being Workampers in Michigan, Massachusetts, Oregon, Colorado, and Virginia. During all of these summer gigs, they enjoyed being away from the Texas heat and traveling/sightseeing a 300-mile radius around where they were working. Dave is a retired accountant, who enjoys helping other people. His current volunteer activities include sorting cans at North Dallas Shared Ministries and answering questions as an Ambassador at DFW Airport. He frequently helps build Habitat houses. Kathy is a retired IT project leader, who volunteers in the Red Cross accounting department. She also plays bridge, reads, crochets and does needlepoint. She served as president of the Texas North Star Sams for two years. |
